Meet My New Blog, Taking Care of Me!
When I started my blog, Caregiving Daughter, I just thought it would just be a way to vent and share some of my feelings about taking care of my mom. I had no idea how much I would learn, how many new people I’d meet, and how much fun I would have.
Once I had the opportunity to start a second blog, I wasn’t sure what the topic should be. At first, I was planning on writing a second blog about caregiving in general, not just about my experiences. After I gave it some thought, I decided that would be TOO much for me to try to keep up two blogs on the same subject. Especially since the subject is often sad and depressing.
This led me to think on the opposite end of the spectrum. Instead of blog about taking care of someone else, what if I started a blog about taking care of me? So many of you have left comments suggesting that I find a way to take a break or take some time for myself. I’ve also read many other blogs where others are struggling to take care of their own needs.
Yesterday, I posted about the dangers of Caregiver Burnout . My new blog, Taking Care of Me , will be about my journey of finding ways to take care of myself in order to keep myself healthy, strong, and sane enough to avoid becoming burned out. I hope that others will either join me in this mission or stop in to provide encouragement and share their own experiences.

What a fantastic idea! I will definitely be checking out your new blog.
I felt very tired yesterday evening, so I slumped in front of the TV instead of doing everything on my to-do list, and, guess what, I feel so much more energetic today! It just shows how important it is to take time out for yourself and not feel guilty!
How cool! I’m gonna go check it out.
