Happy Easter!

Published by caregivingdaughter at 12:42 pm under Happy Times Edit This

I realize that Easter was yesterday, but we were so busy I didn’t have time to write.

Everyone in our house had a great Easter.  The Easter Bunny left baskets for the kids AND for Mom!  I took Flit’s suggestion about giving Mom some scrap booking supplies since Mom enjoyed decorating her cat calendar.  Her basket had stickers, pens, colored paper, a notebook, craft pom-poms (one of the cats likes to play with them), and candy.  She was very happy with all of her goodies.

Unfortunately, Mom didn’t make it to Church.  She was up early, but she got confused and thought she didn’t need to be ready until 10:30, instead of 9:30.  The rest of us went on, and we came back afterwards to pick her up to go out to eat.  We all enjoyed a very nice Easter buffet at a local restaurant.

egg-hunt.jpgAfter we got home, the kids wanted to do an Easter egg hunt.  It was a nice, sunny day, so we thought it would be perfect for an egg hunt.  I asked Mom if she would like to hunt eggs, too.  She said she would, and she got all bundled up with her coat and headscarf.   My husband went out and hid the eggs around the yard.  Mom and the kids hurried to pick up as many eggs as the they could.  Mom was quite competitive, and snagged a few before the kids could reach them!  They had so much fun that we hid them again.

The egg hunt wore Mom out, and she was too tired to decorate eggs later with the kids.  The kids made a couple just for her.  Even though Mom was tired, it was a great day for her.  We’ll be sure to plan other fun activities since she enjoyed this so much.

Kelly - Yes, working on little scrap booking projects will be very good for her. The egg hunt was also very good exercise, and she counted all of her eggs when she was finished.

You’ve hit on an idea of how to entertain your mother. The scrapbook stuff was a great idea.

My husband used to hide the eggs again and again until the children grew weary of the game.
